Below: Amy with
her first babies here with us. Amy is a pro mom who has had several clutches in past but this is her first with our aviary.
The first two babies were born Feb 23, 2014 and the third was born Feb 25, 2014. In this picture they are 4,4 and 2 days old.
To the right: Amy with her three little munchkins growing by the day! Unfortunately the
fourth egg did not hatch and three was the final tally for this clutch. A perfect number if you ask me! Babies are 7, 7 and
5 days old in this pic.
Below: Amy's babies still in the nest with her at 11, 11 and
9 days. They will be pulled in a couple of days. They are moving around a lot more now so the picture is a bit blurred but
you can see on the larger two babies the dark pin feathers are showing under their wings' skin.
Below: Amy's babies at 18,18 and 16 days. They have places to go and people to see. It's
hard to get them to sit still for a picture!
Below: Amy and Spike's babies are 24, 24 and 22 days old. It turns out there are two blues
and one violet this clutch. Their colours are showing more by the day!
Below: The violet baby from Amy and Spike's clutch 34 days old. With our bad camera's
it's hard to capture the beauty and depth of the violet.
Below: Our male turquoise Bauer who is waiting to go down with the rest of the breeders
but has to hang out with us until they are all off of eggs/babies until he can go down with them. In the mean time he is comforting
the babies in their first day out of the aquarium and in a small cage.
